"Hiya Becca,
Just wondering how the cover of your book is going to look! Will the cover consist of just the picture, the title, and the name of the author and/or the editor? Or, will it have a half picture, half base part, with some sort of fancy design? We're very excited and still wondering what the complete outcome will turnout like! However the turnout, it will sure look cute! Lots O' Love, Your Book Loving Friends" ~~~~~ So I got this comment from one of my faithful commenters, haha. I decided to reply to it in an update post. So here is my reply. Hello Friends, Well, I actually received the email with the cover back on November 14. It looks really cool! and I like it a lot. It didn't even have to have anything changed because it looked soo good. I approve of it lol. So, the cover consists just of the picture, the title, and the name of the author(me! haha). The text is white and frilly. My dad said it is pleasing to the market haha. It is really neat. I have not decided if I will let you see the cover yet, like post it on here or not. I am undecided. Maybe if I get enough pleas I will post it prior to it coming out. Or maybe you will have to wait til I take pictures of the proof copies. We'll see. *grins excitedly* Thank you soo much for commenting! You leave such nice comments! Love you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ So update now. This morning I opened my email find quite a few emails. Half were junk so they were immediately trashed. Some emails from friends with "thanksgiving" wishes. Responded to those. All the while keeping an eye on the email I saw was from my publisher. Not being a 100% sure what the email was about I left it to last because it was undoubtedly about my book! Of course I was correct. So I was really excited when I opened the email and read what it said. :D It had a document attached with my book with the formatting she had done so far like the first chapter heading, scene breaks, the title page, dedication look like. It is simply gorgeous! I love it! So far, I've shown it to my mom, and several sisters! It looks so frilly and girly and beautiful! and I think it fits the book and the main character's personality well! It was soo exciting to see it and grin widely :D. It just makes me soo much more impatient for my book to be done. So there is the update for now. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope the day was splendid! :) Hello y'all! I thought I'd give you the reason that I picked the name for my book. So, the title as you can see is "Still That Girl" and the reason for this is this. Two or three years ago, I was talking with one of my friends about our current favorite songs. Her's was "Gold" by Britt Nicole. So I thought it sounded interesting so I wrote it down. After that, I promptly forgot I wrote it down but then occasionally I was reminded of it. Finally a year or two ago, I believe, I finally remembered to look it up. It is a really great song you should look it up, but that's not the song we're talking about so let's move on. So I decided to check out other songs by Britt Nicole. Just to see what she was like overall. So one of the next songs I listened to was "Still That Girl"(you can find the video at the end of this post). Well, I thought it was a pretty good song! Honest! It was my favorite for a while! (my favorites always change. But I still like it). Then one time I was reading "Little Women". Whenever I read that book, I always feel inspired to write good wholesome stories that will last forever. Just books like that make me happy and I don't find too many of those these days. So finally after that time I finally decided I was gonna do it. I was going to write a book like that. Well, I'm not exactly sure if I did write a book like that but you're guys are the judges not me so we'll see when my book gets published. Anyways, I remember that "Still That Girl" was my favorite song at that time so I was like "hey! what if I use that song as the basis of my plot". I did do just that, though one of my sisters said I kind went a tad drastic but oh well. So since I used that song for the basis of my plot I decided to use that for book title. I think it fits great with the story and I really like the title. So that is the story behind the name "Still That Girl". I hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to leave comments! I love them! :)
Here's the video for the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iNEUT1JsU0 So hello again! I just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek of the cover. It's done yet so the sneak peek shall consist of the cover picture, which turned out beautiful because my mom photographed it and one of my friends was the gorgeous model. Several months ago, possibly/probably back in March I went to my friends house and together we picked out several outfits for her to wear but finally decided on one. Then about a month ago it finally worked out for us to do the pictures. We took quite a few pictures and I just knew it was going to take a while for me to pick one out. Thankfully, though, last week when I sat down to pick one out, with the help of my younger sister, I was able to pick one out faster than I expected. My mom actually was the deciding vote, haha. Anyways here is the photo :D
Welcome to the official blog for my books! Here I will keep you updated on all things. The blog is still under the works. I will definitely be tweeking it a little bit as I figure it all out.
Right now we are between the process of editing and soon will be in the formatting process. I finished the last touch ups of editing last night and went over things with my publisher this afternoon. I also decided on the photo for the cover. You might get a sneak peak of it, but we'll see about that. |
